Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 runs only with your consent. It loads after you accept in the analytics banner. Before that, and after you refuse, Rising does not load the Google tag and no Google Analytics cookie is set. With JavaScript on, Rising also deletes any such cookie left from an earlier visit. Without JavaScript, you can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser. The measurement ID, G-WKX9H1BC2Y, is public in each page.
When you accept, Google Analytics sets two cookies. Google's cookie documentation lists _ga, used to distinguish users, and _ga_<container-id>, used to persist session state, each with a default expiration of 2 years. On Rising the second cookie is named _ga_WKX9H1BC2Y.
As configured, it records page views, scrolls, outbound clicks, video engagement and file downloads. Site search, page-change and form-interaction measurement are off, and so is automatic detection of user-provided data. Rising removes fragments and query strings from the page address and referrer it sends, keeping only utm_ campaign parameters. An outbound click or file download records the address of that link, including any query string in that link.
This data is sent to Google. Event data retention is set to two months, read from the Google Analytics Admin API on 30 October 2026. Read Google's privacy policy.
Hosting and Cloudflare Web Analytics
Cloudflare hosts Rising and processes each request to serve the site, whatever you choose in the banner. Read Cloudflare's privacy policy.
A Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon also runs on pages. It is turned on in Cloudflare for the rising.dev zone and does not depend on the banner. Cloudflare's documentation says the beacon loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com, collects page load timing metrics and, on sites proxied through Cloudflare, sends its data to /cdn-cgi/rum on the site's own domain.
Cloudflare says Web Analytics "does not use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, to collect usage metrics", and that it does not "fingerprint" individuals through their IP address, User Agent string or other data for the purpose of displaying analytics. Its FAQ says Web Analytics does not currently log query strings and may add support later. Its reports include country, host, path, referrer, device type, browser and operating system.
Project images load from public GitHub hosts, so your browser requests them from GitHub whatever you choose.
Stored in your browser
Rising has no accounts. It keeps these values in your browser, and clearing this site's data removes them. The localStorage and sessionStorage values stay there. The analytics-refused cookie also goes to rising.dev with each request, and Rising's own code reads it only in the browser.
analytics-consentlocalStorage- Your analytics choice: granted or denied.
analytics-refusedcookie- Set only when your browser can neither save nor remove a refusal in localStorage. It keeps the refusal on later pages for up to one year, and Rising clears it once your refusal or a new choice can be saved.
themelocalStorage- The theme you chose in Settings or through a theme link.
brandlocalStorage- A theme value saved by an older version of Rising, read only when theme is absent.
rising.saved.v2localStorage- Your saved projects, models, products and searches.
rising.watchlist.v1localStorage- Projects saved by an older version of Rising, kept as a recovery copy.
rising:loadedsessionStorage- Records that the opening animation has played, so it does not repeat in this session.
Change your choice
The button in this section and the Analytics choice button in the footer of every page reopen the banner. If you refuse after accepting, Rising stops Google Analytics on that page, deletes the _ga and _ga_WKX9H1BC2Y cookies and does not load the tag on later pages. Refusing does not recall requests already sent to Google, and an event queued just before you refuse can still be sent.
Your choice is saved in this browser. If it cannot be saved, the banner says so, the choice applies to the current page only and the next page may ask again. A refusal that can be neither saved nor removed from storage is kept in the analytics-refused cookie, so it holds on later pages. If cookies are blocked as well, or your next visit comes after that cookie has expired, an earlier accepted choice may apply. Without JavaScript these buttons and the banner do not appear, and the Google tag cannot load.
